When Serving Opens Hearts

When a young ministry family
 hears that first announcement
of where they will serve
 after the days of seminary,
vicarage, packing and moving....
  there is a heart flutter
for this new place that will be-HOME.
Sometimes God moves us into unfamiliar territory.
Where culture and custom
paint a new story of celebrations.

Like the Harvest Home celebrations in North Carolina.
This photo shows the members of
Mt. Calvary, Kannapolis on April 17, 1921.

Community grows and families pass the faith baton.

Over a hundred years of sharing the Good News.

And years of invitation- Come Home!

Where children learn the stories of Jesus
 told from generation to generation.

And a young pastor's wife,
with an art education training,
 creates visual Gospel.
The sacramental Gifts declared as invitation.

As well as the death crushing blow in the garden.
No fear.

Harmonies fill the space in praise.

And a husband brings recognition
publicly to his mate who serves
 with such an open heart.

Two young former Hoosiers,
 transplanted to the South.
Willing to learn.
Willing to love.
With no barriers.
For the sake of His Gospel for ALL.
