LWML Leadership on International Seas-
What a great experience to have some

In devotion time these LWML women
met in prayer and love.

Trish Aamoth-President- FL-GA District,
Karen Soeken, former President of the Chesapeake District,

A break out session.
What would it look like
for a new prayer story?
Or to bless others with prayer?
Or spend time reading and processing
 in the Enduring Word Bible.
 Thanks to Jamee Thieme
for co-leading the breakout session with me.
 Spiritual practices lead
 to eager conversationalists.
We have seen God's faithfulness.
Always plenty of Show and Tell
 for Visual Faith.
 Great to team up with
Visual Faith Coach- Jamee Thieme.
 Thank you for your leadership-
outgoing President Edi Colis!
For Sunday Am worship we were joined by
Southeastern District President John Denninger

Sharing Jesus- IRL

Southeastern District Prayer Quilt

This prayer quilt represents the prayers of many
who are lifting up the names of loved ones,
 of people who walk
without knowing Jesus as Savior,
on mission and ministry. We have sheets that list
 the Circuit Visitors
and our iNeighborhood congregations.
Our goal is to make them available
at District events
and then have a wall of prayers for display
at our Convention in May 2018.

This quilt will next be a part of the LWML
gathering of the Chesapeake District Fall Retreat.
Participants may want to pray for congregations
in their zones, for the various zone leadership,
for the mission work of LWML –
 both locally, nationally,
 and internationally.
As you stop to color,
think of someone, a concern,
a ministry and pray
 for them while you work.
You may wish
to add their name to the design –
or a prayer thought.
 These gifts of prayer
will be added to the Prayer Quilt.
Thank you for your partnership as together
we pray for the work of God
 in and through His people-
 so that all will know.

Thank you to Sally Hiller
 for contributing this update.

LWML resources- Collaborative Work

The LWML- Lutheran Women's Missionary League- just posted their first FREE printable coloring resources. It’s a collaborative process, with reviews and approvals by LWML leaders and pastoral counselors, to provide visual faith and creative craft resources.
The proposal for the first set came from Eden Keefe, Vice President of Christian Life, and included the featured verses, sizes, and formats (notecards 4/page and four narrow versions for use as bookmarks or Bible margins).
Then the graphic designer added the visual elements and put it in the final format. Melissa Merker, LWML Graphics Team Coordinator, designed this set.
(partial image here)
Melissa, would you tell us your process for putting together the visual elements for these resources? Are they computer generated?

“Yes, they are computer generated. They are patterns found on stock photography sites using vector graphics. I edited a bit but not much. I used the frames to highlight the verses and the LWML logo. I wanted the words to be the center piece of the design.”

Once Melissa finished the design layout both resources were sent for final approval and then placed on the LWML website. The FREE printables are available here:

They are being promoted through social media. We would love to see how you have colored them and learn how you will use them!

Eden Keefe attends Bethlehem Lutheran Church
 in Aiken, South Carolina.
Melissa Merker attends Jordan Lutheran Church
in Apex, North Carolina ,where her husband serves as pastor.
Three young children keep her very busy.
We give thanks for their collaborative work for the LWML
and the available resources for all to use.
