Four years ago Mom and daughter team of Katie and Julie Black were searching. There was a restlessness and anxiety to their lives. They felt they were not living their God-potential so they turned to His word and dove in head first. What they found was exactly what God planned for them all along. Here’s their story.
About Katie(the daughter)
Three years ago, the purpose and passion I had as an elementary school teacher started to disappear. I felt no joy in waking up each day for work. I had a sense of dread thinking, “Am I going to feel this way until I retire?”
I knew I had a blessed life, and yet I felt unhappy and unfulfilled and wanted more in my life! As a preacher’s daughter, I struggled with these feelings (Christians shouldn’t ask for more! They should just be happy with what they have, right?).
But now I see that unsatisfied feeling is HOW God was pulling me toward him, because I started searching his word and seeking his guidance. I saw HUGE gaps between what my life was then and what I hoped it would be at that point. For the first time in my life, I systematically and clearly developed a vision for my life.
Once I had this comprehensive vision, the circumstances in my life started changing. The most important change was my relationship with my Heavenly Father. It went from just a “Hey Jesus, I feel really close to you on Sunday morning” relationship to connecting, experiencing and feeling his presence every day. My perspective of who God is and what He wants for my life has been the most important factor in my spiritual, physical, and mental transformation. It is His power within me that helped me feel an ease to my life unlike anything I’d ever experienced. Through igniting the power and faith of God’s spirit in my life, I was accomplishing and experiencing things I thought before were impossible.
About Julie(the mom)
Seven years ago, in the midst of my busy life, God called me to serve my parents when they needed care in their final years and that calling changed the trajectory of my life in ways I never imagined.
Shortly after they went to be with their Lord, I began to feel an urgency from God. I realized time was ticking away and there was something more important I was supposed to do with my life. I felt God calling me again, stronger and stronger, to look to His word.
My daughter and I broke His teachings down into manageable steps and strategies that brought about huge changes in our lives. Our connection with God became closer and richer and with that came overwhelming joy, peace, and a sense of fulfillment we had never felt before.
I am now more focused, more fulfilled, and more accomplished than I ever expected to be at this stage in my life. And I know for sure that you’re never too old and it’s never too late to become the person God intended you to be.

The calling that the Holy Spirit has placed on our hearts is to help YOU ignite the power in your faith to really live life and become the person God intended you to be.
We know that God brilliantly crafted YOU to fulfill His purpose for your life. You have everything needed to live that purpose. Once he directs your path, you have to start taking action and start moving down the path. It’s probably going to be on a path you never knew existed, which means you will experience things you never could have imagined. On that path he will connect you to the right person, the right resources, and the right opportunities that will help you do what he is calling you to do!
